Contest entry: RED

I had fun with that background..

I decided to add black and gold colour to this also. it would have looked too passionate if it were complitely red, also black and gold colours gives it a nice contrast. and who wouldn't love red and black combo?

by combining different colours you can create a completely different world and give the drawing a new way of understanding it. the more red, the more passionate. the gold, the more royal. the more black, the more depressing. but ofcourse that depends on many things. like the drawings theme, which part of the picture/character you will colour with a certain colour and so on. also the mood of the drawing is important. colouring ain't only about harmony, colour balance, contrast or of a good looking drawing. it's way much more...


time: I don't remember how much time I used on this, maybe like.. 6-4 hours.
